Cinema is my first love, an affair that began long before I could even comprehend its magic. From the very moment I opened my eyes to this world, it seemed as though the allure of movies was etched into my soul. The screen held a mesmerising power over me, weaving stories that spoke to the deepest corners of my heart. It’s as if every frame, every line of dialogue, carried an emotional resonance that resonated within me, creating an unbreakable bond.

Each film is a journey, a shared experience that transcends time and space, connecting me to a world beyond my own. In the embrace of cinema, I find refuge, a place where my soul finds its truest expression, and where my heart beats in sync with the rhythm of storytelling.

In the quiet corners of my heart, a dream was born – to become an actor.
I reached a profound realisation, after enduring the gruelling process of 899 auditions in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai, that the path of constant auditions was not the avenue I wished to pursue. With newfound determination, I made the resolute choice to transition into the realm of production.

This decision was both liberating and empowering, allowing me to channel my passion for storytelling in a fresh and invigorating manner. It was time to step away from the audition room and embrace the world of production, ushering in a new and exciting chapter in my creative journey.

That’s how Desi ChalChitra Production came to be, a library for stories waiting to be told, a canvas for dreams to dance upon. It’s not just about me anymore, but about the stories that yearn to be heard, the characters eager to breathe life, and the magic that unfolds when dreams are nurtured into reality.

On And on January 29th, 2021 the first video of Desi Chalchitra
Production was shot. The video, aptly titled “Types Of Singles,” was conceived from a place of genuine conviction.
And since then we haven’t stopped.

Work

I have been a movie fanatic since I was born, captivated by the magic of storytelling through the lens of a camera. After returning from my time at Oxford, where I delved into the intricacies of Theater Studies at Somerville College, I found myself facing a challenging transition. The theoretical knowledge I had gained was invaluable, yet the practical application in the world of filmmaking proved to be an entirely different endeavour.

It was a moment of realisation that the stage and screen held their own distinct languages, requiring a unique set of skills to convey narratives effectively. Faced with this daunting prospect, I decided to take a leap of faith and venture into the realm of YouTube videos. It was never part of a meticulously crafted plan, but rather an organic progression borne out of a genuine passion for movies.

This unanticipated shift marked the humble beginnings of our production journey, a chapter in my life that would ultimately redefine my understanding of cinema and pave the way for a creative odyssey beyond my wildest dreams. Through every frame, every edit, and every narrative choice, I learned that sometimes, the most remarkable journeys begin with a single, unplanned step.

After meticulously crafting over 70+ sketches, I embarked on a creative journey that culminated in the production of two enthralling mini-web series, namely “Aina” (Romantic Drama) and “Buaji Namaste (Comedy Drama)”. These projects marked the initial steps in my filmmaking journey. Buoyed by the success of these ventures, I boldly ventured forth into the realm of a big-budget family drama, birthing “Golu Ki Dulhan”.

The endeavour was a testament to my evolving skills and unyielding passion for the art of visual storytelling. Drawing extensively from the knowledge and experiences garnered through the production of my mini web series and web show, I took a decisive leap into the realm of thrillers, culminating in the creation of the riveting web movie “Mahalaya”. This project stands as a testament to the growth and refinement of my craft, showcasing a fusion of creativity, technique, and a deep understanding of the intricacies of cinematic storytelling.
